Product description
Curcumin is an antioxidant extract found in turmeric root. Curcumin contains curcuminoids including curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin. Turmeric in Latin is Curcuma longa. The roots of the plant are typically used as spice for Asian cuisine. Curcumin being the major component of turmeric, it has extensive scientific research demonstrating its potent antioxidant properties. Through its antioxidant mechanisms, curcumin supports colon health, exerts neuroprotective activity, reduces inflammation and helps maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.
New Roots Herbal’s Curcumin contains 5 mg of black pepper extract, validated to contain 95% piperine, the critical marker compound that has been proven in clinical trials to amplify the bioavailability of curcumin up to 2000%.
Curcumin interferes with melanoma cells. In vitro studies show that curcumin made melanoma cells more likely to self-destruct in a process known as apoptosis.
