Product description

Formulated by Dr. Joseph J. Collins, an experienced healthcare practitioner who has been directly involved in advancing the practice of supporting natural hormone health since 1993.

ThyroMend is a Hormone Specific Formulation of iodine-containing seaweeds and herbs that supports thyroid function. It is designed to maintain the health of thyroid hormone-producing tissues and support the healthy function of tissues that respond to thyroid hormones. This is accomplished by supporting each of the seven steps involved in thyroid function: providing bioavailable iodine for thyrocytes; promoting iodine uptake by thyrocytes through interactions with sodium-iodide-symporter (NIS) proteins; promoting triiodothyronine (T3) & thyroxine (T4) production and secretion from thyrocytes; promoting conversion of T4 to the more bioactive T3 by liver cells and other peripheral cells; promoting RXR/TR heterodimerization of thyroid receptors on target cells; promoting binding of thyroid hormone receptors to DNA by RXR/TR heterodimers; and promoting action of T3 on target gene expression. This formula also provides antioxidants that help protect against oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

Indications

  • Thyroid gland function
