Adrenal fatigue is a group of symptoms related to the stress response system, otherwise known as the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis. Prolonged stress and anxiety will overwork the adrenal glands, leading to adrenal gland 'burnout' and poor tissue response to cortisol. Depending on which stage of adrenal fatigue a person is experiencing will determine how this stress system responds: either chronic high or low levels of cortisol.
The adaptogenic herbs found in Adrenaplex work by increasing the adrenals endurance and overall ability to respond to stress.
