The amino acid lysine is classified as an "essential" amino acid because it cannot be manufactured by the body and must be ingested in either food or supplements.
Depleted by stress, lysine is often used to help fight viral infections, including aggravating cold sores.

Can be enhanced in this respect when taken with vitamin C and zinc.

500mg L-Lysine (form L-Lysine Monohydrochloride)
Other ingredients:Gelatin (capsule), Stearic Acid, Cellulose, Rice Flour and Magnesium Stearate.
Dosage
As a dietary supplement take one capsule, on an empty stomach 1-3 times daily.
